HKW Architects designed the addition to the current Raintree School completed in 2013 (Also designed by HKW). A strong demand from families and a sizable waiting list prompted this expansion, containing 3 additional classrooms and a Gymnasium space. In keeping with the Reggio Emilia approach and consistent with the original building , the addition will offer changing and dynamic views to the outdoors on this incredible site. Flexible spaces and level changes also offer opportunities for self-directed learning. The addition also reinforces the key spaces that reflect the “piazza”, which is the current lunchroom and art room.
