background

In addition to more “permanent” architectural assignments, HKW Architects is now in its 3rd consecutive year of providing design criteria for the temporary structures built for Thurtene Carnival.  All of the structures are student designed and built, and if you’ve ever seen these in person, you know they are often quite elaborate and complex.  Find out more about Thurtene Carnival here.

HKW Architects has been working with the city of St. John over the last 2 years in a number of selected facade improvements along St. Charles Rock Road.  Floyd’s Tire & Auto Care Center was completed in 2010, and currently the Kaletta Candle Company is undergoing its renovation.  As more projects are completed, the streetscape of the Rock Road will continue to transform.

Although the weather has not cooperated recently, this 17,500 sf office building is out of the ground!  The building should be complete by mid-summer.  Though modest in its expression, the building will have noticeably better daylighting than many comparable structures, creating a better and more productive work environment.
